The CIHP program is a 300 Hour Post Graduate Continuing Education Program designed to help practitioners acquire clinical integrative healthcare knowledge about the nature of illness, healing, and wellness. Practitioners will learn to incorporate evidence-based, safe and ethical integrative therapies through analysis of a comprehensive patient history and physical examination, and interpretation of basic and advanced clinical laboratory tests. The goal of the program is to develop integrative healthcare expertise for the treatment and management of common acute and chronic health conditions.
The program contains (31) distance learning modules that hold a number of lessons on each topic. Case presentations and treatment protocols on a number of disease and disorders are included for: Cardiovascular Disease, Gastrointestinal Disease/Disorders, Lyme and Autoimmune Disease(s) and more.
*This program begins with the Basic Sciences of Integrative Medicine and progresses onto Specific Systems Dysfunction. The modules are designed to be taken in sequential order since each module builds upon the one that preceeds it. Students will have immediate access to study Modules 1-5 (Part I foundational science of Integrative Medicine) for the first 30 days before progressing onto clinically focused modules with specific treatment protocols. Note: Students must complete an end of module exam with a score of 80% or higher before progressing onto ensuring modules.
1.) A PDF version of the textbook, Laboratory Evaluations for Integrative and Functional Medicine by Drs. Richard Lord and J. Alexander Bralley is provided at no cost to all students enrolled in the Certified Integrative Health Care Practitioner or Laboratory Evaluations for Integrative Medicine Programs. This textbook is essential to the study of Modules 2-12 of the 300 hour Certified Integrative Health Care Practitioner program.
2.) Integrative and Functional Medicine Approach to Basic and Advanced Laboratory Interpretation: Clinicians Desk Reference by Dr. Wayne L. Sodano. This textbook is offered at a discounted rate to enrolled students of the Certified Integrative Health Care Practitioner and Laboratory Evalutations for Integrative Medicine Programs. Total cost $3990*. Payable in 6, 12, and 18 month interest free installments. Recertification is required every two years by submission of one case study along with a renewal fee of $150.00. Case presentation requirements are posted on line for all students. Graduates applying for recertification will be provided the required case presentation format via email.

Laboratory Evaluations for Integrative Medicine is a 100 Hour Post Graduate Continuing Education Program designed to help practitioners acquire knowledge about assessment of integrative and functional medicine laboratory tests and how to apply them in clinical practice. Specific topics include: Vitamins, Minerals, Toxic Elements, Amino Acids, Essential Fatty Acids, Organic Acids, Oxidative Stress, Hormones and Neurotransmitters. In addition, there is a discussion on Genomics and several case presentations. Instructor: Dr. Chas Gant, MD PhD.
The program contains (9) distance learning modules that hold a number of lessons on each topic, offers cutting edge information in integrative medicine laboratory evaluations, and seams nicely with those doctors who have studied in the functional medicine paradigm.
There is a required textbook for this program. The PDF version of this textbook has been made available to the College of Integrative Medicine and is provided to students enrolled in this program. Course Description: This course introduces the principals of integrative medicine and how the core principal of inflammation is related to chronic disease. It includes the (adult) physical examination from an integrative medicine perspective, and the preparation of a case presentation.
Objectives: Students will be able to explain the philosophy and treatment approach of integrative medicine, and the physiology and pathophysiology of the inflammatory process and natural medicine anti-inflammatory measures and be able to conduct an integrative physical examination.

Note: This course is also offered in the 300 Hour Certified Integrative Health Care Provider program as Module One. There is a video and supporting material in this course that provides information regarding case presentation required for Part One of the CIHP final examination. However, the examination at the end of the course (at the conclusion of CIHP108) is required to ensure proof of proficiency and to receive a transcript of completion.
